1. TASK "FAIRY TALE"
  • Describe what happens after the climax of your story.
  • Is your character returning home?
  • Is your character going forward realizing they are capable of doing more now?
  • Is your character returning to a certain period of their life?
  • Maybe your character… wakes up?
  • You can leave a lead in your story, letting the reader know there will be a sequel.
  • The denouement can also be open-ended. For example, the Character is given a choice of what to do next and they simply say: "I have made my choice."

Examples of denouement after the climax:

  • Harry Potter sees his son off at Platform 9 ¾
  • Elsa chooses a life in a forest instead of a life in a kingdom
  • Wendy sees a ship in the sky
  • Frodo returns to the Shire after destroying the One Ring
  • Mermaid marries after defeating the old sea witch
2. TASK "ILLUSTRATIONS"
  • Draw a landscape to complete a wonderful story.

  • What will be present in your landscape? Will it be the house your Character returned to, a railway station, a new location, a seashore, or a wonderland? Maybe it will be your Character's "inner landscape"? Maybe your Character blossoms inside and his inner world has changed.

  • Try to draw a landscape that will have a lot of air, a lot of space, and freedom.
